Frequently Asked Questions
Got a question? We've got answers. If you don't see your specific issue listed below, feel free to reach out to us directly!
General Repair & Policies
How much will my repair cost? Can I get a quote?
Because every repair is unique, costs vary depending on the severity of the issue and the parts needed. We highly recommend filling out our online "Get a Quote" form or bringing your device in for a thorough diagnostic. We will always provide a transparent estimate and get your explicit approval before performing any paid work.
How long will it take to fix my device?
Most standard repairs are completed within 1 to 3 business days once the device is on our bench. More complex motherboard repairs or services requiring specialized ordered parts will take longer. We will always give you an estimated timeline after our initial diagnostic.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Yes! We stand behind our work with a 90-Day Limited Shop Warranty on all repairs and parts we provide. If the original issue recurs within 90 days, we will fix it at no extra labor charge. Please note that this excludes software issues, custom modding functionality, and any new physical/liquid damage caused after the device leaves our shop.
Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?
While we happily accept walk-ins at our White Oak location, we highly recommend calling ahead or booking an appointment online. This ensures a technician is immediately available to assist you and speeds up the intake process!
Laptops & PC Repair
What brands of laptops do you fix?
We repair all major brands! This includes Apple MacBooks, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Microsoft Surface, and custom-built gaming PCs.
Will I lose my data/photos during the repair?
In most hardware repairs (like a screen or battery replacement), your data is completely safe. However, for issues involving hard drive failure, liquid damage, or corrupted operating systems, data loss is possible. We strongly recommend backing up your data before bringing your device in. If your device is dead, we also offer professional Data Recovery services.
Can you fix liquid damage or a cracked screen?
Absolutely. We can replace cracked LCD/LED screens on almost any model. For liquid damage, time is critical! Bring the device in as soon as possible so we can clean the motherboard components before corrosion permanently shorts the board.
Can I upgrade my laptop while it's in the shop?
Yes! If your laptop is running slowly, the best time to upgrade is while it's already on our bench. We can upgrade older hard drives to ultra-fast NVMe SSDs, increase your RAM, and perform a full interior dusting.
Game Consoles & 3D Printers
Can you fix my Xbox 360 if it has the Red Ring of Death?
Yes, this is one of our main specialties! We perform component-level diagnostics, ultrasonic cleaning, and premium thermal repasting to bring RROD consoles back to life. Check out our Xbox 360 Errors page for more specific diagnostic info.
Do you repair next-gen consoles like the PS5 or Xbox Series X?
Yes. We frequently perform micro-soldering for broken HDMI ports, fix disk drive reading errors, and resolve overheating issues by performing deep interior cleanings and liquid metal replacements.
My 3D printer isn't printing correctly. Can you help?
We offer expert calibration and mechanical repair for FDM 3D printers (Creality, Prusa, Anycubic, etc.). Whether you have a clogged hotend, bed-leveling issues, or need firmware upgrades like BLTouch installation, we can get your printer back to optimal performance.
